Maps4FS Schema Tools

Generate custom JSON schemas for the Maps4FS map generator – tailored tree, building, and texture sets for Farming Simulator 25.

Designed for Maps4FS · FS25

Create smarter FS25 map templates from real-world data

Maps4FS turns OpenStreetMap and elevation data into Farming Simulator map templates with correct scale, terrain and land-use information. It builds a detailed starting point in Giants Editor so you can focus on gameplay and detailing instead of raw height maps and road layouts.

The tools on this page generate JSON schema files that plug directly into Maps4FS, controlling which textures are painted, which trees are placed, and which buildings appear on your FS25 maps.

Choose a schema generator

Each generator starts from the FS25 master schema and exports a compact JSON that includes only the entries you select. Files are already named for easy use with Maps4FS.

Tree Schema FS25

Tree Schema Builder

Configure which tree species Maps4FS can place on your map. You can select whole species or specific growth stages, then export a custom rmc-tree-schema-*.json.

  • Browse all FS25 tree types
  • Select by tree type or individual stage
  • Export a minimal tree schema for your project

Buildings Schema FS25

Buildings Schema Builder

Decide which buildings and prefabs Maps4FS can place in residential, commercial, industrial and farm areas. Export a trimmed rmc-building-schema-*.json for your map.

  • Filter buildings by category and usage
  • See footprint size and tags at a glance
  • Build a focused building set per region

Texture Schema FS25

Texture Schema Builder

Control how terrain textures are painted from real-world data. Map OSM tags and land use to FS25 ground textures and export an rmc-texture-schema-*.json compatible with Maps4FS.

  • Filter by category – roads, fields, forest, buildings and more
  • View color swatches and usage details
  • Export lean texture schemas for each project

Using these JSON files in Maps4FS

These tools generate standard Maps4FS schemas. You can paste them into the built-in Schemas Editor or replace the JSON files used by the app.

1

Generate and download a schema

Open the builder you need, select your entries and click Export JSON. Save the file – the name will already start with rmc-*-schema- so it is easy to recognize.

2

Open Maps4FS and show schemas

In the Maps4FS Windows program, open your project and go to the advanced or expert configuration. Use the Schemas Editor or “show schemas” options to see the current texture, tree and buildings schemas.

3

Paste or replace the schema JSON

For the schema you want to customize, either paste the JSON from your exported file into the editor, or replace the matching schema file in the Maps4FS data folder with your generated JSON.

4

Generate your FS25 template

Generate your map as normal. Maps4FS will now use your custom textures, trees and buildings when building the FS25 map template that you open in Giants Editor.
